Tinchies !!

This is what I called my swap over on UKS ... small tins of mints, altered according to your swappee's theme ... they didn't have to be mints, they could be any tin, so long as it was small :)

The first pics I am going to upload are of my daughter's tinchie ... she saw what I was doing and wanted a go.  Hers was covered in tissue paper, then painted with white acrylic, she then used Peeled Paint and Forest Moss distress inks, then more acrylic paint to paint the 'splodges' (I think they are flies lol) and also the reeds.  She put her arm deep into the fishtank to get some tiny pebbles !! which she stuck on with glossy accents. She then added 2 little frogs that I had.  All her own idea and not bad for an 11 year old :D

My Tinchie was for Caroline (Hotluca)  She chose Gothic-y, Vintage-y, Victorian-y as her theme and rather than try and incorporate all 3, I decide to go down the Gothic route !  This was my 2nd attempt as tinchie number 1 wouldn't play ball and so got launched across my desk!  For this one I covered the front and back with black handmade paper (torn up into little pieces), used Watermelon alcohol ink on the tin edges and inside edge, I covered a metal heart with book pages and inked with Barn Door distress ink, then covered with glossy accents, I hung a couple of small hearts and a key from this and hung this inside on the left hand side, the right hand side contains a little concertina book with  Gothic style photos from the internet, this closes with a ribbon.  The front cover has a grungeboard, embossed and dyed heart and a couple of paper roses.  Hanging from the bottom of the tin are 2 chains made with various beads and charms.  A couple of the charms (2 skulls and 2 crosses) were courtesy of Rebecca  :)  Thanks dear x   I hope Caroline likes it :)

Helen's May ATCs

I thought I'd share my latest ATCs ... not sure what is happening but again I went for something completely Alien to me ... only in the fact that I have jumped on the old 'Royalty/Jubilee/Patriotic' thing!! I'm not necessarily for or against it but it is not something I ever thought I'd end up doing   Anyway ... for my ATCs I decided to go for a graffiti type theme, I used a brick wall embossing folder, the card is just corrugated card which I also inked with vintage photo.  I ripped a strip of Union Jack paper (Portobello Road?? ) crumpled it and then stamped and embossed a crown.  I added the date and my initials to complete the graffiti look   We had to make 5 and we get 5 different ones back, I made 6 so I could keep one myself

Hope those that receive one, like it :)
